Villaroja, built at the turn of the 21^st Century, is designed and finished in the Santa Fe style and therefore looks and feels quite different to the traditional Spanish villas on the Monte de los Almendros. The villa has magnificent, uninterrupted, views of the Mediterranean from almost every vantage point and is open, airy and furnished in the modern style. There is off-street parking directly outside the front entrance.

The villa is terraced on four levels and comprises a combined living/dining room and kitchen on the top floor with sliding doors opening on to a very generous upper terrace and an iconic view.  There is also a guest lavatory and entrance hall on this floor. The secluded upper terrace is ideal for al fresco dining and has a teak dining table seating six very comfortably as well as two handcrafted Adirondack sun chairs.

With staircase access both from inside the house as well as from the terrace the next floor down has 2 large, en suite double bedrooms at opposite ends of the building with one smaller bedroom with two single beds in between as well as a third bathroom across the landing. From all three bedrooms, double sliding doors open on to the swimming pool/sun lounging and bar patio area. Part of the terrace/ patio is covered, providing longed-for shade in the summer and keeping the bedrooms cooler. The bar is equipped with hot and cold water, fridge and microwave and the outdoor gas convection grill can also be moved to this location as desired.

From this level there are steps down to the third level, which can be used for sunbathing and/ or as a games area as well as for drying clothes and towels. Finally, we come to the garden level, with luscious flowerbeds, a palm tree, bougainvillea and a very large en suite double bedroom, constructed as part of the swimming pool edifice. Outside this fourth bedroom, which is not normally used in the summer months, there is a casita (an open, but roofed wooden hut) which is a wonderful place for reading, chatting and generally chilling out in the mid-day heat!

The house is easily accessible from the road but probably not suitable for physically challenged people due to the number of levels.

The villa is very well equipped and includes a 46” flat screen TV with satellite channels in the main sitting room, DVD player, music centre and a second wall mounted TV in the master bedroom. The kitchen has an electric hob, raised oven and grill, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Outside there are numerous sun beds as well as comfy sofas and alternative outside seating dotted about the villa. The villa can accommodate 6 adults comfortably and we would normally only take 8 in an emergency and at an extra charge. A high chair and cot are provided. There are ceiling fans in all rooms except for the garden bedroom, which has a standard fan and is also cooled by the swimming pool above. Swimming towels are not provided.
