Luxury Villa overlooking Salobrena on the Costa Tropical
4 bedrooms (all
en-suite) sleeping 8,
heated pool.
This luxury, privately owned villa, nestling on the hillside overlooking the picturesque old town of Salobrena and its Moorish castle, is available for those seeking the perfect hideaway to escape, and enjoy peace and solitude (if required!) in one of the most beautiful and unique parts of Spain. Situated on the Costa Tropical, between Motril and Almunecar, high on the Monte Los Almendros, it enjoys spectacular views of the Mediterranean coast and the surrounding hills of the Sierra Nevada.
Easily accessible with new motorway links, Malaga airport is only 60 minutes by car and Granada 45 minutes away, and Cheap flights are available into these airports. It is ideally situated to explore the cultural history of Andalucia including Granada and the world famous Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada National Park. Even closer are the beautiful walks found in the Alpujarras, so vividly described by Chris Stewart in ‘Driving Over Lemons’. This villa was acquired by the present owners in 2009 and has been carefully renovated and modernised to a high standard. With four large bedrooms, each en-suite, it can cater for 8 people in comfort. It has its own private 8 metre pool with ample terrace space and shade to enjoy eating out al-fresco or just soaking up the sun. An Outdoor Chef gas barbeque is provided.
The accommodation is on 2 levels, with the kitchen, living/dining area, cloakroom, one double bedroom, balcony and terrace on the upper level, while the main entrance door, hall and staircase, are on the lower level with the other 3 bedrooms. Central heating and pool heating if required is available and charged at cost. Linen and towels are provided, all new for 2010, with Egyptian cotton linen supplied throughout. Beach towels are not included. To ensure we can maintain the villa to a high standard, please note that we cannot accept pets and there is a strictly no smoking policy inside the villa.
The bedrooms comprise of a master bedroom en-suite with king size double bed, a second master en-suite with full size twin beds and two further double bedrooms, both en-suite with king size beds. Both master bedrooms give direct access on to the south facing pool terrace and all bedrooms have ceiling fans and fully fitted wardrobes. All the bathrooms are fully tiled with a shower or bath and hand shower, toilet, basin and bidet.
The villa has fully fitted modern open plan kitchen, featuring Miele equipment and including a dual gas and electric hob, 2 electric ovens, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, coffee maker and toaster. Also provided are a safe, iron and ironing board, 2 High chairs, a child’s buggy, games and books. A Play Station 2 / DVD player is available with some games (please exercise parental control) and do bring your own.
The large south facing lounge/dining area is well equipped with two efficient ceiling fans, and seating for 8. It is very comfortably furnished with a wood burning stove, large flat screen satellite TV and DVD/CD player, iPod docking station, WiFi Broadband connection and phone. Telephone calls are charged at cost, with local calls to landlines free. The living area provides direct access through patio doors to a large, partially covered wrap around terrace which extends around half of the property with superb views of sea and mountains. There is a shaded area with dining table and chairs served directly from the kitchen and from here outside steps lead down to the lower pool terrace.
The pool is private and not over looked, measuring 8 metres by 4 metres with a minimum depth of 1.5 metres. Around the pool are comfortable sunbeds with cushions and a large poolside dining table and chairs for 8 people. There is also a separate poolside toilet and the gas barbeque can be found here.
Free access to the urbanisation’s large swimming pool, children’s pool, tennis courts and play area is provided as well as full management meet and greet support services. There is no charge for electricity, but phone calls (other than local landline calls) and oil for central heating and pool heat are charged at cost. Rental rates include linen and towels, and a weekly change of linen for rentals of 14 or 21 days.
Locally, Salobrena in particular and Costa Tropical in general, are one of the hidden gems of southern Spain. Whilst enjoying mild winters and hot summers, this area still retains much of the local character and Spanish way of life and has largely avoided the worst effects of mass tourism. The white washed village of Salobrena, with it’s Moorish castle perched high up on a rocky outcrop and narrow winding streets and alleys, has a good selection of bars, restaurants and supermarkets and a long beach front. Surrounding the town are the Alpujarras hills which lead back into the Sierra Nevada mountain range and ski resorts. A car is recommended and, although only 2 miles from the town, it is 300 metres above sea-level! Secure off road parking is available for 3 cars. All this offers visitors a great opportunity for a holiday which can be as relaxing or as active as you want to make it.
Car rental is strongly advised and the owners have negotiated a 15% discount of the advertised rates of Helle Hollis which their clients can take advantage of. See www.hellehollis.com and contact the owners at the time of booking for details.
TESTIMONIALS
Harvey, October, 2011
Many thanks for the excellent week we spent at your lovely villa. We had a
lovely time and really appreciated the effort you have made in making your
guests feel so welcome. This was a very professionally and beautifully presented
villa with exceptional client care.
Shore Family, September, 2011
We had a wonderful time at the Villa and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was
refreshing to stay somewhere where everything was so clean and well organised,
everything that was there was good quality and worked: knives were sharp, towels
were thick and fluffy, nothing was broken or excessive in quantity, it was great
- there is nothing more annoying than there being 10 pans but no lids or 20
knives but they are all blunt. I felt it was great value for money.
I would say that you hit 99.9% and it was a pleasure to stay there and we would
definitely be happy to stay again.
Campion Family (Hampshire) August 18, 2011
A well deserved and relaxing family break, a world away from our usual hectic
and busy lifestyles. A fabulous way to enjoy each other’s company in the most
stunning of surroundings, soaking up the rays and enjoying the beautiful and
immaculate villa. Thank you.
Mirza Family (California) 24 June, 2011
Thank you for sharing your beautiful villa for our vacation in Spain. The
villa is beautiful and the family enjoyed the pool, the scenery and the amazing
cities we visited. This has been a great trip and I definitely wish to come back
again.

We had a great time, perfect relaxing location with everything we could wish
for. The villa was exceptional, feel free to use me as a reference and your
prospective clients can email me if they'd like.
Loved the BBQ!
Fleming Family October, 2010
All 8 of us absolutely loved your villa, the accommodation was first class,
it all felt very spacious. Having four bedrooms and bathrooms was a definite
plus. The view from the Living Room took our breath away and was a delight to
get up to each morning.
Our holiday ticked all boxes required.
Jo and Paul Sampford, August 2010
My family and myself all wish to congratulate you both on owning such a
beautiful villa and our stay there was wonderful and most of all relaxing and
comfortable. We have rented many villas over the years in many parts of the
world and its rare to find a villa that is all it pertains to be advertised as,
and we are happy to say yours is.
McKain Family, July 2010
The villa lived up to our expectations and more - so well done & thank-you
