El Olivarón is a luxury, light-filled villa completely renovated and refurbished in 2008/9, which sleeps up to 8 people.

It sits on the steep hillside of Monte de los Almendros with absolutely breath-taking 180-degree views over the old town of Salobrena with its Moorish castle, the Mediterranean sea, and the Sierra Nevada mountains which are snow-capped for many months of the year.

As well as its magnificent views, this beautiful villa boasts:

4 double bedrooms.

4 bathrooms (3 brand-new).

2 kitchens (one of which was brand-new in Jan 09).

Lovely new swimming pool and surrounding terraces from where you can either swim, sunbathe, or just admire the views!

The layout of the villa is on two distinct levels, each totally self-contained, making it ideal for two families, or one family with teenagers who enjoy their own space and privacy!

Upper level

Large, open-plan living/dining area with flat-screen TV, music system to play your iPod/MP3 player, leather sofas and dining table for 8 people. Windows and two large patio doors all offer breath-taking views over the sea to one side, and the mountains to the other. This large room opens out via both patio doors on to a lovely terrace which runs the full width of the house, with built-in barbeque and two separate seating/eating areas. There is also a wood burning fire surrounded by traditional brick for use in the cooler winter evenings if needed, and is an attractive feature all year.

At one end of the large, light-filled living/dining area is the fully fitted luxury kitchen (brand-new in 2009) with spacious breakfast bar, fridge/freezer, oven, hob, built-in microwave and dishwasher.

Family shower-room (brand new in Dec 2008) with large shower, WC, wash basin, washing machine, and heated towel rail.

Large double bedroom enjoying the same beautiful views as the living area, with fitted wardrobes. En-suite bathroom (brand new in Dec 2008) with two sinks, WC, bath and shower, hairdryer, and heated towel rail.

Lower level

This is completely self-contained, and makes this an ideal choice for two families, or one family with older children. This level is accessed by outdoor steps.

Living area with seating.

Kitchen complete with fridge-freezer, microwave and hob.

Huge twin bedroom with lovely views, two single beds, wardrobe. Ensuite shower room (brand new in Dec 2008) with large shower, WC, washbasin and heated towel rail.

Double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and patio doors opening on to large terrace enjoying the same lovely views as the upstairs terrace. Spacious ensuite shower room with WC and washbasin.

This lower level opens out on to a spacious terrace and private swimming pool complete with lemon and olive trees.

The house is set above a quiet road which has no passing traffic. The well-maintained community area is only 7 minutes walk away, with huge swimming pool, separate children’s pool, children’s park, tennis court, grassed football pitch and drinks kiosk (in the summer). Access to this area is free to visitors of El Olivares.

All bed-linen and towels are provided, but we ask that guests should bring their on beach/pool towels.

Local Amenities & Activities

Coast/Beach. The beaches of Salobreña are a 7 minutes drive. Almuñecar beaches 15 minutes.

Golf. Los Moriscos Golf Course is a 10-minute drive. Granada Golf Courses are a 1 hour drive. Malaga Golf Courses are a 1 hour drive as well.

Skiing. The Sierra Nevada Sol y Nieve ski resort is a 1 ¼ hour drive from the villa. Easily accessible, and all equipment can be rented there.

Airports. Salobrena is within easy distance of 3 airports, all of which are served by the Cheap flights of the budget airlines.

Malaga - 75 minutes drive, Granada - 45 minutes drive, Almeria - 105 minutes drive. A hire car is strongly recommended.

Distances. The town of Salobreña is 7 minutes drive from the villa. The town of Almuñecar lies within 15 minutes driving from the villa. The province's second largest town, Motril, lies within 12 minutes driving from the villa. The small fishing village of La Caleta is 6 minutes drive away at the bottom of the hill and has bars and a bakery for delicious fresh bread in the mornings.

Location. Salobreña is located on the Costa Tropical de Granada, an unspoilt area of southern Spain where sugar cane, avocados, mangoes and other fruits grow prolifically. There are a wide choice of tapas bars and excellent local restaurants all within very easy reach.

Further inland are the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains with skiing and snow-boarding in the winter, and fantastic hiking during the warmer months. The historic city of Granada is only 45 minutes drive away, home to Andalucia's most famous historic attraction, the Alhambra.

Other all year round sports available are tennis, golf, horse riding, scuba diving, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, mountain biking, and walking/bird watching in the beautiful valleys of the nearby Alpujarras.
