A spacious and comfortable home with
fabulous views & very private location
The owners have recently retired and will be taking the
opportunity to spend more time on holiday themselves. When
they are away their very nice home with spectacular views in
a very private location on the hillside overlooking
Salobrena is available for holiday rental for up to 7
people. Cheap flights
are available into Malaga airport.
Their home of the past 20 years has 5 bedrooms in all, but
their own bedroom will be closed off when it is rented. The
4 available bedrooms are all on the lower level being two
doubles, one twin bedded room and one single all with
comfortable, good quality mattresses. There are 3 bathrooms;
two being ensuite shower rooms and the third being a family
bathroom with a shower and bath. There is also a separate
cloakroom with WC in the upstairs living area. The entire
property has recently had a major renovation including new
floors, windows, electrics, plumbing, kitchen and bathrooms.
It is like a brand new villa but with an established mature
garden! The
house is very spacious inside and out with the living areas and
outdoor terraces in keeping with a comfortable 5 bedroom
family home rather than a normal holiday villa.
The pictures above give a pretty good idea of the home and
one of its nicest characteristics is the privacy and
tranquility that it enjoys at the end of a quiet cul de sac
with a wooded valley beyond. As they also own the adjacent
vacant plots there are no immediate neighbours! The views
are also rather special from the spacious open plan living
room with it's a 4 metre wide single panel picture window
framing a postcard perfect view of Salobrena, the castle and
the sea. The snow capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada can also
be viewed from the living room. Another much enjoyed feature
is the easy connection between the outdoor and indoor living
areas. Immediately outside the living room is an open
terrace leading to the large covered eating area with a 10
seater circular table and outdoor kitchen/bar complete with
a versatile and easy to use outdoor cooker/barbecue, drinks
fridge and washing up facilities.
Also outside there are 6 sun loungers and a full size table
tennis table and another seating area with adjustable
sunshade for those evening drinks at sunset or afternoon
tea!
Access to the open plan indoor kitchen is just a few paces away via
the back door or the living room patio doors and within the
kitchen is yet another seating area for occasional meals.
Outside the ample garden area is mainly lawn with various
palms, fruit trees and shrubs. On the plot below the villa
the owners grow their own vegetables and you can help
yourself to whatever is available there during your stay!
Amongst the fixtures, fittings and amenities are a water
softener, water purifier for drinking water (no need to
carry those heavy water bottles!), air conditioning
throughout, digital satellite TV with British terrestrial
channels including BBC HD plus Spanish channels on the 42"
Panasonic HD tv, DVD player, music system with ipod dock,
electric piano/keyboard, Miele dishwasher, oven, Microwave
and induction hob; Dyson vacuum cleaner, big drum washing
machine, tumble dryer, and of course a swimming pool. There
is a telephone and a PC with broadband internet connection &
wi-fi so you can also connect your own laptop.
Access for any elderly relatives is easy with just a couple
of steps between the upper entrance (There are two
entrances) and the main living area. The bedrooms, pool and
main garden area are all one level lower. The house adjoins
a wooded valley with abundant birdlife including golden
oriels, hoopoes, bee eaters, nightjars, scops owls,
flycatchers, swallows, kestrels and various other
interesting birds. There are no immediate neighbours on
either side. There is free access to the Monte de los
Almendros community recreation area with 2 swimming pools
and a tennis court just 5 minutes walk from the villa.
The rental is 2000 pounds per week in from mid July to the
end of August and 1750 pounds per week at other times.
Additional Electricity charge in winter only. The
swimming pool has an excellent solar heating system with
thermal cover and from April to October they guarantee will
always be at least 27ºC/80ºF without any additional pool
heating costs. Even in mid winter it will usually be warm
enough for swimming (around 21ºC/70ºF) and additional
heating can be provided by an energy efficient heat pump at
an additional cost. Casa Miranda also has underfloor heating
powered by another energy efficient heat pump so that in mid
winter the villa can be warm and comfortable even if the sun
does not shine as much as usual. Note from November to March
inclusive all electricity consumed will be charged at cost
(0.16 euros per Kw).
While the owners are away the pool and garden will be
maintained as usual and the house cleaned with bed linen and
bath towels changed each week. The house is very well
equipped compared with most self catering villas.
